Book Review: Admission Matters

Wow, time flies when you're homeschooling a child as fun as my daughter has always been! Although she's now 14 and a freshman in high school, she's also in her third year of taking community college classes part-time. So we've begun the process of looking at the (full-time, 4-year) college admissions process, to make sure we are covering all the bases in her high school curriculum that she'll need for admission to a selective university.

In January, I'll be attending a 6-week class on College Admissions in Stanford University's Continuing Education program. The class meets once weekly and is taught by Jon Reider, who wrote Stanford's original homeschool admissions policy, and who is a co-author of the book Admission Matters: What Students and Parents Need to Know About Getting into College. I've read it and written a review of the book oriented to homeschoolers and posted it here on our Web site. Enjoy! There are several more books on his list, so I'll be sharing more book reviews in the next couple of months.
